FPT Welcomes a Delegation from China’s Greater Bay Area - Promoting Technological Connectivity and Cooperation

Recently, FPT received a delegation of business representatives from the Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area as part of a program to meet and explore strategic cooperation opportunities in Vietnam. More than 60 senior leaders from both sides attended the working session, sharing visions and expectations regarding deeper connections between leading technology enterprises in Vietnam and China.

Before the formal meeting, the delegation visited FPT Tower - FPT’s headquarters in Hanoi. There, FPT representatives highlighted pioneering milestones in its innovation journey, global market expansion, and its leading position in Vietnam’s information technology industry.

At the opening of the working session, Mr. Yuan Fuyong - Party Committee Member of the Qianhai Cooperation Zone and Deputy Director of the Qianhai Administration - praised the technology ecosystem that FPT is building. He stated: “If Shenzhen is known as China’s ‘Silicon Valley’, then Qianhai is the international gateway - home to strategic industries such as finance, logistics, information technology, artificial intelligence, and specialized services. With an open policy framework, a modern legal environment, and strong support from the central government, the Qianhai area is emerging as a strategic destination for global technology enterprises.”

Mr. Yuan Fuyong explained that this visit to FPT is intended to enable Chinese information technology companies to gain deeper insight into FPT’s operating model, development strategy, and technological capabilities. It is also an occasion to introduce the potential and opportunities for cooperation and investment in the Qianhai area.

On behalf of FPT, Mr. Trần Đăng Hòa - Chairman of FPT IS Co., Ltd., FPT Corporation - shared Vietnam’s current development context and expressed the expectation to strengthen increasingly deep cooperation between Vietnam and China. He observed: “Vietnam is entering a critical phase, with important reforms to streamline administrative apparatus and enhance management efficiency which are strategic steps in the nation’s development journey.”

He added that this is also the moment for FPT to officially launch a new acceleration phase in which science, technology, and innovation play a pivotal role in its development strategy. “As Vietnam’s leading technology corporation, FPT is proud to be at the forefront of digital transformation and innovation. To elevate our position and increase our contribution, we seek to intensify collaboration and exchange experiences with Chinese partners in key areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor chips, and applied technologies serving daily life,” Mr. Hòa emphasized.

Representing the Chinese business delegation, Mr. Jackson Choi - Vice Chairman of the Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs Committee, Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance; Board Member and CEO of Sunwah Group - expressed appreciation for the long-term and effective cooperation with Vietnamese partners. He shared: “With 68 years of development and 55 years of investment in Vietnam, we have always valued building effective and sustainable partnerships with Vietnamese enterprises, especially leading organizations such as FPT.”

Mr. Jackson Choi expressed the hope that this working session will serve as a foundation to promote mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation between Sunwah Group and FPT, particularly in the field of information technology. On this occasion, he also extended a cordial invitation to FPT’s leadership to visit and work at Sunwah Group’s headquarters in Hong Kong, to conduct on-site surveys, strengthen connections, and jointly explore strategic cooperation opportunities in the near future.

During the working session, Ms. Trần Thị Huệ (Lily) - Director of the Greater China Market at FPT - presented FPT’s more than 35-year development journey: from a pioneering IT company to a diversified technology corporation active in key areas such as information technology, digital transformation, education, telecommunications, and retail. She also shared FPT’s innovation strategy, core technology development, and efforts to enhance international cooperation - directions identified by FPT as focal points in its new growth phase. This presentation helped Chinese delegates gain a clearer understanding of FPT’s capabilities, scale, and influence in the region.

At the conclusion of the working session, Mr. Trần Đăng Hòa expressed confidence that, given the enduring friendship between the two countries and a spirit of sincere and open cooperation, FPT and its Chinese partners will continue to advance together, contributing positively to the shared prosperity of the region.

This visit once again affirms FPT’s standing in the eyes of international partners and opens new doors for cross-border technological cooperation.
